WILLIE SUTTON

There have been many designers, who have tried to make their mark on the fashion industry. Some designers have targeted consumers, designing marketable merchandise, such as Liz Claiborne, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Kenneth Cole. Few are visionaries who create living masterpieces that the world will never understand. Naming a few the late Alexander McQueen, Andy Warhol, and Ann Demeulemeester. There are also the designers that mix the two creating garments in which can be worn everyday in their own perspective such as Alexander Wang, Betsey Johnson, Marc Jacobs, and BCBG Maxazria.

Someone who has become of mixture of an artist and someone who designs clothing that can fit into your everyday lifestyle is Willie Sutton, who is a breath of fresh air. Starting a line of suave t-shirts.

He says he became a designer due to the lack of simplicity in the fashion industry. Believing that garments are too fussy including the suave t-shirt. He said it use to take him days to shop for a suave t-shirt because none were perfect, having too much color and pop art on them.

Willie is inspired by art and good living, which is what his line is inspired by.

One of his major secrets to success is Jalil Peruse of Kanye West's Rosewood crew. Who actually helps him out a lot. Surrounded him with the perfect people to put me in a good position for success.

Before becoming serious about fashion design Willie says;
“I was actually going to go to the marines. Ha-ha. I was at school one day, during my senior year, and a marine had approached me. He was trying to make everything sound so good with the marines. They pay for college. Yadda Yadda Yadda. You get to travel across the world! Yadda Yadda Yadda. There are so many women. Yadda Yadda Yadda. Haha. And they never told me they were the quickest to die. (Laughs). So I signed up, had a ship out date, and was set to go. Let’s just say, I was ghost on that day."

Willie has also definitely gone green by saving coffee grounds from Starbucks, giving them to gardeners. A good way to recycle & also help plants.

Willie is now in the process of planning a release party for his new line, which I look forward to previewing soon!!!!!!
