$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have noticed that up and coming designers are BIG these days. Whether they design accessories, ready-to-wear clothing, or couture clothing, a lot of them are over priced. Something that I just can't seem to understand is how do a lot of these up and comers sell low quality clothing for so much money. Not to be a shady lady but "come on now" a lot of them sale arts and crafts that you could make in your kitchen.
A lot of people say, "We want to support up and coming designers, and why not spend the money on the up and coming designers instead of a big designers?"
To answer this question: it's okay to support an up and coming designer who puts a lot of effort into their designs, but I believe you pay for quality! For example, if you go to Walmart and buy a pair of shiny Dr. Marten look-a-likes for $15 dollars, you are not going to get as many wears as you would a pair of real Dr. Marten boots that last a life time. I think that if up and coming designers are going to sell their merchandise at high end prices they need to have high end quality and craftsmanship. Not just throwing things together for looks. Not to babble, but what a lot of people forgot is that fashion is still a form of art, and is taken seriously by a lot of people. Your art should express who you are. Therefore if you have low quality art you are not a good artist.
