NOMAD
Nomad is a Greek word meaning "those who let pasture herds". In today's society the word, nomad, has become a word with more than one definition. One of the most newly used common definitions for nomad, is a person in which does not study one particular trade, or stay in one setting, and is not bound by things around them, but is always on the move looking for something new to inspire them. A person that I consider a true new found nomad is Jack O’Brien.
O’Brien is an artist who is inspired by the world around him. O’Brien is a person who can look up at a tree and see a nesting of birds and be inspired to create an amazing piece about birds. O'Brien wants to be an amazing artist, fashion designer and graphic designer. O’Brien's philosophy is "nobody should have to stick to one thing, people should be free to experiences more then one thing in order experience life". Something else that I found amazing about O'Brien is how other successful creative people are main sources of inspiration for him. There's nothing like an artist who can be inspired by other's artwork.
Something else I admire about O’Brien is how he gained his own perspective of the world and things around him, rather than when he was in school where it was hard to express himself being peer pressured into being just like the people around him. I guess you can say he spread his wings, and began to fly.
O'Brien has even gone green, using a lot of old paper, plastic and metals, in his art work.
When asked, "If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?", he answered, "Stereotypes!" The thing that made that so astounding to me is the fact it was an real answer, not made up or practiced answer, an answer that never get recognized often and is swap under the rug. Over all Jack O’Brien is an amazing person and artist, who I now look up to and support 100%. O'Brien is in the process of starting a printed clothing-line with his illustrations, possibly a magazine, and also making eye-wear pieces. Please check it out!!!!:))
