Neil Barrett Fall 2011 Runway

Neil Barrett Fall 2011 collection was phenomenal. He infused two amazing themes to create a masterpiece. One being his aesthetic military themed clothing, formed from his family’s military background, second, being scuba diving. His collection were very monotone using mainly the colors black, gray, and white, with pops of brown, cream, and gold. The collection's main feature was its scuba leggings which were either one solid color with geometric lines or two toned with geometric lines. He also featured a lot of color blocking, stripes, and tailored silhouettes with military inspired outerwear. A few garments consisted of black and white fur which created movement for the garments. The setting of the show complemented the garments perfectly. The backdrop reminded me of an icy fortress under water. Over all the collection was perfect!!:)

PERFECT UNDERSTANDING

Richard Anderson

This outfit was so perfect. Richard wore a vintage black aviator coat with a fur trim collar, on top of a black sweater, with a white crew neck tee on the bottom layer. On the bottom he wore black pants cuffed up with black plat form boots and to end the whole look round framed sunglasses showing us the definition of the 90s Seattle Grunge look layered perfectly which I love dearly...ugh...perfection he was as he walked his beauty dog!:)

In this photo Richard is joined by two friends. The only word I can think of that describes all three of their styles is Dapper! :) Left to right: friend one has on a dark tan trench coat, with the collar pulled high, with stone wash denim jeans and brown distressed leather wing tip oxfords; friend two has on a grey knitted doubled breasted cardigan, with black slim fit slacks and shinny black oxfords; Richard has on a tan harem pant suit, with a white vest, tan button down dress shirt with a scarf tied around his neck, with a cross body brown leather bag, alligator green trouser socks and brown boots. To complete the whole look he has on a colorful broach which was the absolute perfect touch! :)

CAMERON DIAZ RUNWAY

Cameron Diaz is one of Hollywood's A- list actresses. Known for her stellar performances in The Shrek series, What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas, My Sisters Keeper, and many more, she has had two red carpet moments which where breathe taking. Those moments were on the Oscars and on the Golden Globes. Both moments she wore amazing runway pieces from iconic fashion houses Chanel and Oscar De La Renta. Styled by genius fashion icon Rachel Zoe. Both of her amazing red carpet moments had completely different effects. In the Pink Chanel fall 2008 couture runway dress, she looked so gorgeous that Aphrodite herself envied her. The look itself was more sexy and playful and had a lot of draping and detail. The silver accessories stood great with the dress as well. The Oscar De La Renta 2010 fall/winter ready-to-wear runway dress gave her an old Hollywood look, mixed with an Alaskan Princess. The dress was so perfectly executed every sequence was perfect. The way the dress moved was exquisite, when she walked down the red carpet, I'm sure it was hard not to look at this Alaskan princess. Over all she took two major runway dresses and enhanced their beauty with two amazing looks! 10s for Ms. Diaz! :)

ART OF THE FACE

Cosmetics have been used for years to enhance natural beauty. The first dated use of cosmetics was in Egypt around 3500 BC during the Ancient Egyptian times. Egyptians' make-up resembled cats, darkening the eye lids with a type of eyeliner called kohl and eye shadows. Ancient Rome also used cosmetics. The ancient kingdom of Israel also used cosmetics recorded in the Old Testament in the Bible, 2 Kings 9:30, where Jezebel painted her eyelids.
Some who I know that is mastering the art of the face is Valerie Tilghman. Valerie started mastering the art by doing make-up for proms, wedding, friends, and Drag shows. Inspired by the colors in nature she uses the blank canvas of a face and enhances it with earth tones and floral colors, contouring the natural curves of the face with an edge creating a masterpiece. She believes every face is beautiful, although some may need to be more defined but still hold a unique beauty that differs from everyone elses'.

Other inspirations of Valerie include fashion magazines such as Zink, W, and Allure. Make-up artist inspirations includes Francios Nars, Pat McGrath and many others!

Valerie says “I really study the individuals face. It sounds crazy but I let it speak to me and show me what features to highlight. I like to follow the natural curve of the lips and play up the cheekbones“.

Valerie says “I would never choose to do another field besides make-up artistry, but if I could change one thing in the world, I would expand the tolerance of each person's differences. No one should judge anyone. Let people be who they are andlong as they are not forcing their opinions and lifestyles on you, then so be it. Embrace the differences. You might learn something.”

Her most recent favorite fashion moment was local. She participated in Baltimore fashion week where she watched her models prowl down the runway!:)

I believe Valerie Tilghman is going to take the world of cosmetics and make-up artistry by storm!
